Guys I wish that Rush plays also alternative rock for fourth genre. Please added genres. 2A02:2F0E:C60B:8700:448F:6B72:B99F:FD6 (talk) 21:46, 7 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Three genres are more than enough for the representation of the band's genres, as it should be primary what they are known for, which are progressive rock, hard rock and heavy metal. The alternative rock genre you are suggesting is already in the "Musical style and influences" section and does not need to be expanded out. HorrorLover555 (talk) 02:43, 8 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed HorrorLover555 - Rush is PRIMARILY known, and self-described, as a prog rock band. Lets not confuse the overall theme by adding fringe topics. Ckruschke (talk) 18:31, 11 February 2025 (UTC)Ckruschke[reply]
I know but three genres are not more than enough really. There must be four musical genres such as alternative rock. Please guys believe me. 2A02:2F0E:C60B:8700:40A1:EBBD:E660:9465 (talk) 09:46, 28 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have already explained this to you. The alternative rock genre was only used for a few albums, it does not need to be expanded into the infobox, which in turn you had only provided poorly-sourced references. As Ckruschke has already stated, the band are primarily known as a progressive rock band. HorrorLover555 (talk) 18:26, 28 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I know and you agree, but I wish you edit a fourth genre for the representation of the band's genres, as it should be primary what they are known for, which are progressive rock, hard rock, heavy metal and alternative rock. Please guys, I'm so sorry for without discussion and four genres is more enough for the representation of the band's genres, as it should be primary what they are known for, which are progressive rock, hard rock, heavy metal and alternative rock. 82.77.70.93 (talk) 08:52, 11 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This begs the question, though: why heavy metal if not alternative rock? They have dabbled in both but are still primarily known as a prog rock band. --Λeternus (talk) 10:53, 11 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Alternative rock is not a primary genre for the band. Just because they have used that genre on one or two albums does not make them an alternative rock band. Again as stated above, Rush is PRIMARILY known, and self-described, as a prog rock band. The genre of alternative rock is already noted in the band's "musical style" section, so... why the need to include all of the genres? HorrorLover555 (talk) 14:36, 11 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
