The Lauredian Union (Catalan: Unió Laurediana, UL) is a localist conservative political party in Sant Julià de Lòria, Andorra.
History
[edit]Centered in Sant Julià de Lòria, the Lauredian Union has won every election in the town from 1999 to 2023, with the exception of 2015.[3]
The Lauredian Union first contested national elections in 1997,[4] when it was one of several local parties to form an alliance with the Liberal Union in the parliamentary elections that year. The UL failed to win a seat,[4] but in the 2001 elections won two seats.[5] The party did not contest the 2005 elections,[4]
For the 2009 elections the party was part of the Reformist Coalition, which won 11 of the 28 seats.[6] In the 2011 elections the party won two seats,[7] supporting Democrats for Andorra. In the 2015 elections, the party returned to the Liberal camp but soon formed a 'third way' coalition alongside the Third Way party and several Independents for the 2019 elections. The coalition received 1,853 votes and won four seats.[2]
In 2022, Democrats for Andorra and Liberals of Andorra made an electoral pact against the Lauredian Union.[8] The Lauredian Union did not field any candidates in the 2023 election.[3]
